After Katie Willocks turned 40, she struggled to find her style. She decided to book a session with Helenlee and hasn't looked back since.
How did you feel before booking style code?
Since I’ve turned 40, I’ve been struggling with my style and looking age appropriate but not frumpy. Although I love clothes, I’ve always struggled with shopping, working out what was right for my shape and getting things to fit properly.
What made you decide to book?
I came across a picture of Helenlee on Instagram, showing how to style the same blazer and jeans for day and night and I realised this was what my wardrobe was missing. Although Helenlee provides lots of advice for free on Instagram and on her website, I knew I needed her help in putting this together for me.
What were your hesitations?
After seeing Helenlee’s Instagram page and the Stylecode website I didn’t have any hesitations in booking. The only thing I was apprehensive about, was finding out which colours were best for me, but as it turns out, I loved the colours that Helenlee showed me.
How did you find your session?
I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but Helenlee is funny and down to earth and made me feel at ease. It was great being able to do it from the comfort of my own home via Zoom. Helenlee took plenty of time to explain my colours, dressing for my shape, my style moving forward and answer any questions I had. Having access to the group Facebook page afterwards has been great too, we can all share things we have found and ask for feedback.
Has your confidence increased?
Definitely! I’m wearing things I would not have considered wearing before, as Helenlee has taught me to embrace my shape and not hide it, I wish I had learned this years ago!
What is the biggest benefit for you?
Learning how to create a capsule wardrobe that works across all aspects of my life. I had put my wardrobe into sections such as “casual”, “work wear”, “going out” and had no idea how to use one item to create different looks.
Was it worth the money?
Absolutely 100%. This was an investment that will save me money in the long run as having a capsule wardrobe doesn’t require lots of items. I no longer feel like I’m aimlessly shopping or buying things just because they are on sale.
Could you share a little more about you?
I live in Shropshire with my husband and our cat. Living in a rural county, we like walks in the countryside but also enjoy visiting cities such as Chester and London. We both love visiting Disney World in Florida as we are big kids at heart. I work part time in an administrative role and I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses so some of my time is spent attending meetings and helping others to learn about the Bible.
